Built to be trusted with your data.
Understanding your financial picture means handling sensitive information responsibly. Here's how we think about it — and what's still being finalised ahead of launch.
The principles we're building on.
Encryption
Data encrypted in transit and at rest, throughout the assessment process.
Access controls
Role-based access — only the right people see the right information.
Data minimisation
We collect what's needed for a fair assessment, not more.
Secure authentication
Your Motova account is protected by modern authentication standards.
Audit logging
Key actions on your account and application are logged and reviewable.
GDPR-aligned
Built around UK data protection principles from the ground up.
Read-only, revocable, and never your login details.
When you connect your bank to Motova, the connection is read-only — we can see transaction data to assess affordability, but we can't move money or access anything beyond what's needed for that assessment. You can revoke access at any time from your account, and we never see or store your online banking credentials. Open Banking connections are provided via regulated intermediaries, with full details confirmed ahead of launch.
Our technology assists. It doesn't decide alone.
Motova's AI-assisted underwriting looks at explainable, relevant financial signals — income consistency, affordability, existing commitments — never speculative profiling of your lifestyle. Applications can be reviewed by our team, and if your TrustScore™ or your assessment changes, we'll explain why in plain language, not leave you guessing.
Motova is a technology company preparing to launch. Specific certifications, regulatory authorisations, and third-party security audits will be confirmed and published here ahead of launch. This page describes our design principles, not a compliance guarantee.
